This sound was recorded in the upf's bar. It was recorded using a zoom h2 portable recorder, placing the recorder next to a coffee machine when somebody was ordering a coffee. We can hear all the tipical sounds of the machine like entering the coins, dropping water, heating the coffee. . .

Recorded on 22/02/2010 at approx. 8am at interlaken west train station, switzerland. Can't recall what type of train it was, possibly sbb or ice. Recorded with a zoom h2 in 2-channel surround mode, no windshield. File has not been modified, only cut short from a longer recording.

Luckily i had some friends that could help me out. 2 people (my friends terese and jb) opened and closed the cloth top while i sat in the passenger side recording. Rain in brittany on a windy winter day. I built this sound by mixing several field recordings made on the same spot: a small wood in the south of the region. These recordings had different focuses: some were more wind-oriented, others had more rain. . . Instead of publishing these individual takes, i chose to mix them in order to create a soundscape that would vary in density, depth and spacing. Recorded with a zoom h2n in x/y stereo mode.
